How we work:
our process and fees
Clients may choose from either Design Bank designs, or commission new projects for private brands.
The Design Bank:
Hatchery Partners-sponsored collections that are part of the Design Bank are pre-existing collections available for clients' exclusive licensed use. For Design Bank projects, our design partners establish a creative objective and collection scope that reflects their unique creative vision. Development costs, typically running into thousands of dollars for artwork, original historic documents, CAD work, and product styling, are entirely funded by Hatchery Partners, freeing the artist to concentrate on creative tasks.
Commissioned projects:
A development plan and budget is presented for client approval. We enter into a license agreement based upon product lines, term of use, and sales estimates. Development costs are partially absorbed by royalty advances from the client and can be fully amortized by subsequent sales. This dramatically reduces the initial cost to our customers of acquiring exclusive design work.
For both independently-sponsored Hatchery Partners collections, or those done exclusively for clients' private label initiative, we follow a disciplined process of evaluating the needs of consumers, developing fashion and color trends, the competitive merchandising objective of the retailer, and real-world production and pricing issues.
Client engagements are based on reasonably priced licensing agreements based on our designs. Terms can vary by client according to individual project needs and the anticipated volume of sales.
